White Palace Old City Boutique Hotel
First Impressions
Walking up to the White Palace Old City Boutique Hotel feels like discovering a hidden gem tucked away on a quiet cobblestone street in Sultanahmet. You know that feeling when you stumble upon something special that most tourists miss? That’s exactly what happened here. The building itself has this elegant Ottoman-inspired facade that somehow manages to feel both historic and refreshingly modern — honestly, I wasn’t expecting such a polished entrance on this narrow side street.
Location Perfection
Here’s the thing about staying in Istanbul — location is everything, and this five-star boutique property absolutely nails it. You’re literally in the heart of Sultanahmet, which means the Blue Mosque is about a three-minute walk away, and Hagia Sophia is practically next door. I mean, you can actually hear the call to prayer from your window, which adds this incredible authentic layer to your stay. The narrow streets around here are perfect for evening strolls, and you’ll find yourself wandering past centuries-old buildings without even trying.
The Room Experience
My room was on the third floor, and stepping inside felt like entering a carefully curated museum piece — but one you can actually live in comfortably. The design strikes this perfect balance between Ottoman elegance and contemporary luxury, with rich fabrics and marble details that don’t feel overdone. The bathroom was particularly impressive, actually — marble everything, rainfall shower, and these little Turkish bath products that I definitely took home with me. What really got me though was the view from the window, looking out over the old city’s rooftops and minarets.
Breakfast and Dining
The continental breakfast here is served in this gorgeous dining area with traditional Turkish tiles and morning light streaming through tall windows. They offer halal options, which is thoughtful given the location, and the spread includes both Turkish specialties and international favorites. I found myself lingering over Turkish tea and fresh pastries while planning my day — there’s something about eating breakfast surrounded by all that history that makes you want to slow down. The restaurant staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the neighborhood too, giving me tips about which streets to explore and when to visit nearby attractions.
Why Guests Love It
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels in Istanbul, but this place gets the details right in ways that matter. The staff genuinely cares about your experience — they’ll help you navigate the sometimes confusing streets of the old city and share insider knowledge about avoiding crowds at major sites. Couples especially seem drawn to this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about staying somewhere that feels both intimate and grand. The combination of that unbeatable location score and the boutique atmosphere creates this perfect base for exploring one of the world’s most fascinating cities. You’re paying for luxury here, but it’s the kind that enhances your Istanbul experience rather than isolating you from it.
The concierge service in Istanbul books private Bosphorus yachts, palace gallery previews, and guided supper clubs in hidden han courtyards.

Guest Reviews
The hotel is located in a perfect spot, very close to all major attractions, yet in a quiet part of the Old Town. Nearby, there are markets, spa centers, restaurants, boutiques, and everything one might need. The room was spacious and had everything necessary.
We especially loved that the bathroom was fully equipped with everything one might need: shaving kits, toothbrushes and toothpaste, sewing kits, shampoos, conditioners, soaps, cotton swabs, nail files, shower caps, shoe cleaning kits, and even exfoliating gloves. Truly impressive—it’s clear that the service is at the highest level.
We were welcomed with tea, coffee, and water, and the host was always there to answer any question and make us feel at home. The bed and pillows are comfortable, there is plenty of storage space, and the bathroom is large and spacious. Absolutely nothing was missing.
We loved everything and will definitely return. Once again, thank you for everything—we can say that the accommodation and the host left us with the best impression of our entire visit to Istanbul.
First of all, I would like to mention the location of the hotel: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque about 10 minutes walk. Grand Bazaar maximum 20-25 minutes walk. There are many restaurants nearby, our favourite, less popular restaurant was also a 10 min walk. Supermarkets, shops are also a few minutes walk away.
The second point is the cleanliness of the room. Perfect cleanliness, attention to every little detail, high five to the staff.
The third and most important point is Alper, who works tirelessly day and night to keep his guests happy. Thank you for your work and help, the White palace Hotel would not be the same without you.
