Urban Suites
First Impressions
Walking up to Urban Suites on a quiet side street in Cihangir, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling. This four-star boutique property sits tucked away on Güneşli Sokak, which honestly feels more like a local secret than a tourist destination. The building itself has that classic Istanbul charm — you know, the kind where modern comfort meets neighborhood authenticity without trying too hard.
The Cihangir Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — Cihangir is where actual Istanbulites want to live. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Istiklal Avenue’s chaos, but when you retreat to your room at night, it’s peaceful enough to actually sleep. The neighborhood has these incredible little cafes where locals read newspapers over Turkish coffee, and honestly, some of the best views of the Bosphorus are just around the corner. I mean, couples rate this area so highly for good reason — there’s something genuinely romantic about wandering these narrow streets together.
What Makes It Work
The suites here actually feel like suites, not just regular hotel rooms with a fancy name. Each one comes with a proper seating area and enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The design strikes that perfect balance — contemporary enough to feel fresh, but with enough character that you’re not staying in some sterile chain hotel. What really impressed me was the attention to details that matter, like blackout curtains that actually block light and water pressure that doesn’t leave you standing under a sad drizzle.
Getting Around
You’re positioned perfectly here for exploring both sides of Beyoğlu. Galata Tower is basically a pleasant stroll away, and when you want to cross to the historic peninsula, Karaköy’s ferry terminal is close enough that you’ll find yourself taking those scenic Bosphorus rides just because you can. The metro connection at Şişhane means you can reach other parts of the city without dealing with Istanbul traffic — and trust me, that’s worth its weight in gold. Plus, there’s decent parking nearby if you’re brave enough to drive in this city.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back is how this place manages to feel both central and residential at the same time. You get that top-rated location everyone talks about, but you’re staying in a real neighborhood where people actually live and work. The staff genuinely knows the area — they’ll point you toward that little restaurant two blocks over that doesn’t have an English menu but serves incredible meze, or tell you which hamam nearby is worth your time. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing Istanbul rather than just visiting it, and honestly, that makes all the difference when you’re trying to get a real sense of this incredible city.

Style of the room
The apartment is very spacious and bright from lots of natural sunlight. Good sized bathroom with very clean and plush towels.
Plenty of restaurants around the area with easy access - ie, there is not much uphill climbing to do to get to these places and Istikal St once you are settled there.
Siraj the owner was amazing and friendly -
