  We were very impressed by the property. It’s not often that a place lives up to or looks better than the pictures (not that the pictures look bad in this case!), but we were actually surprised by how nice the room was. The staff were friendly, particularly the young man who checked us in. Very attentive. The location couldn’t be better – reasonably quiet street, close to the metro and taksim’s hotspots.

  The room in itself was clean, spacious, and seemed new.
  Location as well was a three minute walk to taksim square, the metro, and Istikal street so this was great.
  
  In terms of safety, it was near other hotels so it seemed safe, just a note that it is quite close to Tarlabasi (as is almost all other hotels near taksim square) so some caution when venturing outside at night is needed, since i read that Tarlabasi is quite a high risk area. This isn't the hotel's fault tho since Tarlabasi is close to Taksim square, so to each their own. The area around the hotel seemed fine tho and i felt safe.
  
  Just a heads up to those who have heavy luggages tho that the place is uphill, so you'll be getting in some exercise.
  
  The hosts and receptionists were super accommodating and super helpful! Elevator was on the second floor and they helped us carry all of our luggage. They even messaged us to ask if we want to have a taxi service going to and from the airport. They also owned a grocery/convenience store which was super convenient for us.
  
  All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay here again!

  We had a great 4 night stay, the rooms on the 5th floor have a great view and the staff were very kind and polite, especially Ghadir. I will return to Alkan again.

  We enjoyed our stay, the room was large and comfortable. I think that Kadir was really helpful and ready to be of service. The hotel was connected to a 24/7 shop, so it couldn't get better. the place is also situated close to a lot of small eating places, which made it very easy to choose something or to walk a bit further for the main streets. Lastly, the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Taksim Square, which will take you forever to go through all shops and eating places…so all in all a very pleasurable experience!

  The property is located a couple of streets from Taksim square and it was a pleasant walking distance to a lot of sights in Istanbul. Yosuf was the best host you can ask for. He is very kind and polite and caring. He was always there and gave his number on arrival for anything that we may need. Ozcan was the shop owner and he knew Persian, English, German, Arabic etc. They cared for us like family.
  The rooms were sparkling clean with amazing views to Istanbul skyline. The shower was well decorated and felt like a 5 star hotel. We had the best time there and will definitely be going back again.
