Merkuri Apart
First Impressions
Walking up to Merkuri Apart on İskenderoğlu Sokak, you immediately get the sense that this place knows what it’s doing. It’s tucked into the Sisli district in a way that feels residential but not remote — honestly, that’s harder to find in Istanbul than you’d think. The building itself has that solid, well-maintained look that suggests the owners actually care about the details, which becomes pretty obvious once you step inside.
The Sisli Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Sisli — you’re close enough to everything that matters without being stuck in the tourist chaos of Sultanahmet or Taksim. The metro connections are actually fantastic from here, and you know what? Walking around this neighborhood gives you a real feel for how locals live. There are proper grocery stores, neighborhood cafes where people read newspapers, and that authentic Istanbul energy that’s getting harder to find in the more obvious areas. Couples seem to really get this vibe too, which makes sense given how they’ve rated the location.
The Apartment Setup
The apartment style here is what sets Merkuri Apart apart from your typical hotel experience. Each unit has its own kitchen setup — not just a mini-fridge and kettle, but actual cooking space where you can prepare meals if you want to. The room layouts feel thoughtfully designed, with enough space to actually unpack and settle in rather than just dump your suitcase in a corner. I mean, when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights, having that extra space to breathe makes a real difference.
Daily Life and Practical Stuff
The four-star rating feels spot-on here — it’s polished and comfortable without trying to be something it’s not. Parking in this part of Istanbul can be tricky, so it’s worth checking on that if you’re driving, though honestly most people find the public transport connections work better anyway. The staff actually knows the neighborhood well, which is refreshing — they can point you toward the good local spots rather than just the obvious tourist attractions. The building stays quiet even though you’re in a lively area, probably because the other residents are mostly locals going about their regular routines.
Why Guests Love It
What really works about Merkuri Apart is how it lets you experience Istanbul like you’re temporarily living there rather than just passing through. The combination of apartment-style comfort with hotel-level service hits that sweet spot where you feel independent but not abandoned. The location keeps getting high marks because it’s genuinely well-connected — you can reach the major sights easily but come home to a neighborhood that feels real and lived-in. For couples especially, there’s something appealing about having your own space to cook dinner together or just relax without feeling like you’re in a hotel lobby all the time.

Guest Reviews
It turned out that I mixed the apartments upon arrival by taking a different key from under the mat:) However, the owner didn't say anything to me and didn't bother to change the apartment. I really appreciated this! Very welcoming and client oriented!
