Here’s what I love about staying in Fatih — you’re basically living like a local while still being within striking distance of everything you came to see. The hotel’s location gets an 8.0 rating from guests, and I get why. You can walk to the Grand Bazaar in about fifteen minutes, but when you need a break from the crowds, you just slip back into this quieter residential area where actual Istanbulites go about their daily lives. There’s a small grocery store around the corner, and the neighborhood has this authentic feel that you miss when you’re staying right in Sultanahmet.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what I needed — clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet given that we’re still in the heart of the city. The windows actually open (you know how rare that’s becoming?), and the air conditioning works properly, which matters more than you might think during Istanbul’s humid summers. The bathroom was modern without being sterile, and I actually had decent water pressure, something I’ve learned not to take for granted in older parts of the city.

The breakfast here deserves its own mention — it’s halal and served buffet-style, but what impressed me was the quality and variety. You get the usual Turkish breakfast spread with fresh cheeses, olives, and tomatoes, but they also include some international options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The tea is proper Turkish tea, strong enough to wake you up for a day of sightseeing, and the staff keeps everything well-stocked even during busy periods. I mean, starting your day with a proper Turkish breakfast while planning your route through the city — that’s half the Istanbul experience right there.

Couples especially seem to appreciate the balance this place strikes — it’s romantic enough for a special trip, but practical enough that you’re not paying for amenities you’ll never use.   It was a nice stay thanks to your hotel, it has a very convenient location near a wide variety of public transportation, the room was clean so was the bathroom it has a nice view, and very friendly staff and the reception was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and varied overall we had a positive experience in Mays Royal, and I highly recommend the hotel, Spisal thanks to Mr Erol for his hospitality.

  The room was clean, excellent but som kind small. The view is not amaizing to the near old building. The bathroom is very clean and the shower is great but the shower place is a little bit small and narrow but doesn't matter. The bed is big, clean. Mr. Aron Is very kind and professional and deal like a leader not a boss; he put his hand with his staff in the food lounge. Also, Miss Shouroq is great, she can talk four languages fluently, and she helped me in many things quickly. Many Thanks to Mr. Hamza who always provide his assistance and you can find him everywhere. The location is 10/10; it is near the city center where you can find every thing.
